Algar Agro, which belongs to Grupo Algar, is a closed capital Brazilian Company with activities in the soybean market since 1978. The company produces, processes and sells soybean in the domestic and export markets, and produces its own brand of soybean oil, ABC de Minas, which is a market leader in the State of Minas Gerais, as well as its branded soybean meal, RaçaFort. In a smaller scale, the company is involved in agriculture (soybean and maize) as well as cattle farming (beef and dairy).
The company’s physical infrastructure includes 28 warehouses, strategically located next to grain producing areas, two soybean processing units and one soybean processing plant. In the Triangulo Mineiro Region, its Uberlândia/MG unit which also houses the company’s headquarters, is one of the country’s most advanced industrial complexes for the crushing of soybeans, refining and packing of soybean oil. The Region has a priviledged geographical position in the center of the country, well served by roads, with abundant natural and technological resources and skilled labour force.

The location is ideal for the purchasing of soybeans produced in MAPITOPA, a region which includes the States of Maranhão, Piauí, Tocantins, Pará and the Northeastern part of the State Mato Grosso and which is considered the new agricultural frontier of the country; as well as for the transportation of products for the export market.
