  • 2003The Company is authorized to expand its fixed-line phone and data services to the whole of Brazil.
  • 2004The Company acquires an Internet provider in Ribeirão Preto, State of São Paulo , and starts offering Internet access services.
  • 2005The Company acquires a 172-km network in the Metropolitan Area of São Paulo, renews its fixed-line phone service concession for another 20 years and opens a new contact center website with 1,500 workstations in Campinas, State of São Paulo.
  • 2007The Company acquires a 3G license for its operating area for mobile phone services, goes public and holds its first issue of debentures.
  • 2008The Company is the first to launch the 3G technology in Central Brazil and repositions its contact center business, which starts offering business process and technology outsourcing services. In the same year, CTBC is renamed Algar Telecom.
  • 2009The regional offices in the authorization area (Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Brasília, Goiânia and São José do Rio Preto) are consolidated. The Company consistently tops the Índice de Desempenho de Atendimento (IDA) (Service Performance Index) ranking, Anatel’s indicator for client service quality.
  • 2010The Company acquires Band H, the last phone frequency (3G) in the State of Minas Gerais, outside of its operating area.
  • 2011The Band H expansion starts up in 19 cities, with packages including fixed-line and mobile phone services, fixed and wireless broadband services and satellite pay television.
