The operations of Eternit, Precon and SAMA are certified by the standards ISO 14001 in environmental management and OHSAS 18001 in occupational health and safety management, and SAMA was the first chrysotile mining company in the world to receive these certifications. With investments always focused on sustainable development, Tégula has been selling wood certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) since 2011, which is used in the construction of wood roofing frames.
The company’s relationship with its stakeholders was mapped in 2007, using the AA1000 methodology developed by the Institute of Social and Ethical Accountability (Isea) based in London, England. These include suppliers, trade associations and unions, competitors, the government and society, local communities, the academic community, the media, capital markets and investors, employees, clients and consumers.
