Sustainability Report 2015

Walmart has been in Brazil for almost two decades and is in third position among the largest retail chains, according to the Abras (Associação Brasileira de Supermercados) Ranking survey. It is present in 215 municipalities in 18 states and the Federal District and receives an average of more than one million customers per day in its 544 stores. It also has a virtual store.

It is a closed capital company and controlled by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., an American company which is the world leader in the retail sector, with more than 11,000 stores, 2.2 million employees and operations in 27 countries on five continents.
