The discussions on the collection and correct disposal of solid waste within the Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos – PNRS (National Solid Waste Policy) led Walmart to review the management model of its recycling stations during the year and a pilot project for the new model should be established in 2015.
The company had around 200 collection points in 2014, located in all the store brands throughout the chain to encourage customers to take glass, paper, cardboard, plastic and metal waste for recycling .
